Royal British Legion Clubs are responsible for securing and negotiating their building leases from their Landlord, who happen to be the Royal British Legion Headquarters. This is a complex matter as the clubs needed to secure the longest time period of the Lease along with the best price and the least amount of restrictions. The British Legion itself like most Landlords wants it pound of flesh.

After 18 months of hard negotiating with a gentleman at The British Legion HQ whom is renowned for being a very hard negotiator a Heads of Terms was finally agreed upon in principle and we were requested to put this in the hands of our Solicitors.

I approached Luke Hunt of Newnham & Jordan and from the very outset they understood the complexity of the Lease and the nature of the beast we were dealing with. Throughout at times a very frustrating and fraught period Luke conducted himself in a very professional manner overcoming and obstacles that he met along the way and the Lease was finally signed and completed in a very timely manner to the satisfaction of both parties.

At the Royal British Legion in Ferndown we have now appointed Newnham & Jordan and in particular Luke Hunt for all our legal requirements ongoing and I will certainly recomment their services to other clubs throughout Dorset.

On behalf of the committee of the Royal British Legion Club Ferndown we would thank Newnham & Jordan and in particular Luke Hunt.
